Challenge: Goals

(This post is part of the Wednesday Weekly Blogging Challenge. You can find links to other writers' answers over at Long and Short Reviews.)

Prompt: My goals for 2023

Honestly, my goals for 2023 aren't that much different than my goals for 2022 were:

  • Sleep more, drink less, and exercise more
  • Finish a book and get it published or at least submitted.

I also have some subsidiary goals, like:

  • Put more patches on the Patch Jacket Mark II
  • Start up Duolingo again.
  • Make sure the boys stay up to date on school work and grades.

But mostly? Take better care of myself, and write.

How about you?

  2. I'm loving DuoLingo! It's part of my "brain training" in the AM.... Wordle, Quordle, DuoLingo (mostly Spanish but Irish as well). At night before bed, I give my brain a break with Candy Crush... lol

    1. I've been trying to bring my Spanish back up to speed (I used to be conversational, if not actually fluent) and also learn German. It's possible that I should experiment with slightly less ambitious goals.

  3. I feel a little left out ... everyone is on Duolingo! LOL... Those are good goals and attainable with a bit of work, which is perfect. Best of luck!

    1. I mean, it's not the only way to keep the brain in shape, but it's really not a bad system.

  4. I can relate to the 'drink less'. I've never been much of a drinker, but since my older girl turned 21 two years ago, I'm drinking more often than I had been. And today, my younger one turns 21 so there's that. Hah.

But you've got this! And if you need a friend on Duo, let me know. :D

  5. Hi!! You have great goals!!! Someday I would love to write a book. I am just discovering that I like writing for my blog. I always love to journal but I never thought of myself as a writer.

    1. I mean, enjoyable writing can be anything. Maybe blogging is a good format for you; maybe short stories or personal anecdotes are your things; maybe you'll find book-length projects most satisfying. You really don't know until you try, so go for it!

  6. Get your boys jazzed to beat you in Duolingo stats and you'll be conversational in no time. ;) I say that knowing that my own boys would laugh and return to whatever tech thingamajig they're working on. LOL

Feel free to leave comments; it lets me know that people are actually reading my blog. Interesting tangents and topic drift just add flavor. Linking to your own stuff is fine, as long as it's at least loosely relevant. Be civil, and have fun!
