I honestly don't know. I suspect that the commentators are either bots, or functionally illiterate in English, or both.
I could reduce the number of these comments by turning off anonymous commenting, but I kind of like having an "anybody can reply" setup. And Blogger's SPAM filter seems to catch them pretty efficiently; most of these never see the light of day.
Feel free to leave comments; it lets me know that people are actually reading my blog. Interesting tangents and topic drift just add flavor. Linking to your own stuff is fine, as long as it's at least loosely relevant. Be civil, and have fun!
I wonder if explicitly calling it a scam would actually reduce the number of hits any.
