Michael Mock has weird dreams part 763,471

Scary: Taking shelter in a creepy old building at night while zombies prowl the streets outside.

Scarier: Venturing out into the zombie-infested streets in search of a fast-food restaurant that's still open at this time of night. (No, I don't know why that seemed so important.)

Scariest: Driving a van full of survivors in search of a better, more zombie-proof haven... and looking back to see that everything behind you - dirt, trees, pavement, streetlights - has started to crack open, come apart, and get sucked up into the sky. And yes, the destruction is spreading faster than you can drive, but that doesn't matter because this isn't going to stop and there's nowhere safe to drive to.

Zombie dreams aren't all that unusual for me. The world-devouring apocalypse is a new one, though.

  1. Wow. I had weird dreams for a while and discovered I have sleep apnea. No more weird dreams.

  2. After all your talk about weird dreams, I've been having weird dreams.

A few nights ago I dreamt about two rottweilers who I caught eating kittens. I could hear the kittens mowing from inside the dogs mouths and then a crunch. I actually woke myself up saying something like NO. That one was not pleasant.

  3. Sleep apnea, eh? I've had weird dreams for as long as I can remember, and some of the weirdest have been when I've slept long and well (like, 12-14 hours). But I enjoy having weird dreams, even when they're scary, so I wouldn't want to cure them. Though in my case, I think the technical name for the medical condition is "stress" - this coming weekend is the culmination of my busys season. Also, apparently, the Rapture.

Which reminds me, I need to finish a post for that.

@theagnosticswife - Um, sorry 'bout that. At least you didn't have to go in after the kittens...

  4. Reminds me of the movie Coraline, with the world falling apart. Or Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

I'm not a good dream-remember-er, it makes me sad sometimes to think what I might be missing.

Feel free to leave comments; it lets me know that people are actually reading my blog. Interesting tangents and topic drift just add flavor. Linking to your own stuff is fine, as long as it's at least loosely relevant. Be civil, and have fun!
