Alert! Alert!

School starts soon! The boys will be going back to school! Morning traffic will descend into chaos and delays! Lunches will need to be made! Crowbars must be readied so that we can pry the children out of their beds! Panic! Horror! Terror! Teachers! Secondborn is STARTING KINDERGARTEN!!!!!!!! Firstborn will be in FOURTH GRADE!!!! HOW IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE?!?! And where did August go? It's like some horrible temporal distortion has taken hold. Can nothing save us?

I am not ready for this.

  1. In about the amount of time it takes you to blink three times, it will be December.

(Or at least that's how fast time seems to fly by for me between the months of August and December. And then January and February last about six years apiece. :D)

  2. For us, generally, once we hit the holiday season it's an unending stream of musical illnesses, family obligations, and inescapable exhaustion. If it turns out that the Catholics have it right, then when I die Gabriel's going to meet me at the Pearly Gates, and he's going to say something like: "Well, the bad news is, you have to spend some time in Purgatory. The good news is, you're going to get a pretty hefty rebate from all those family dinners you attended. We count that as time already served."

Feel free to leave comments; it lets me know that people are actually reading my blog. Interesting tangents and topic drift just add flavor. Linking to your own stuff is fine, as long as it's at least loosely relevant. Be civil, and have fun!
